Severe Weather Possible on Saturday - as Warm & Cold fronts collide may produce Super-Cells

Severe Weather will be possible over the panhandle of Florida and into southern Alabama from Saturday into Saturday night.

The VIPIR7 Weather team is watching for the threat of severe weather Saturday afternoon and evening over Northwest Florida. In addition to the severe threat 1-2" of rainfall could be likely with locally high amounts.

Model data indicates 2 rounds of severe weather: the first coming near midday Saturday, as a warm front pushes over our region and the second coming late in the evening with the passage of a cold front. The 1st round (early day) would bring supercell thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. The 2nd round (overnight) would bring threat of damaging straight line winds.

What we ultimately see will be dependent on the strength and track of the low pressure area as it moves along the Gulf coast.

Stay tuned to the VIPIR7 Weather Team as we track and monitor this evolving weather pattern.
