It's New Years morning 0600 hours local... Blue Belle is walking around the decks on GREY GOOSE taking in the new marina - EL CID MARINA Cancun Mexico... I feel the gentle trade breeze coming through the boat hatch and hear the breaking sea just over the sea-wall some hundred feet astern. The daylight dawn twinkles like the holiday lights of yesteryear against a few boats and condos balconies. It is a mystical time of the morning when everything is waking to a new year of life... for us its been three days enroute from Dry Tortugas National Park located some 80 miles west of Key West Florida - our last USA stop before making the jump to Mexico during our 6,000nm homeward bound voyage to Astoria Oregon.
Brown pelicans are sitting on top of pilings watching thousands of small food fish below, wind-gens are spinning on sailboats keeping the batteries topped up, and there are a sea of Green, White and Red National Flags waving in the morning breeze... when it strikes me that what is important are IMAGES OF HOME.... thanks to a good marina Internet connection I can click and see a few images of my home area... the wonderful Pacific Northwest.... God's Country...
